We arrived in Paris at around 2pm local time a little tired after 24 hrs travel, but ready to get going.
After many attempts by rogue taxi drivers willing to take us anywhere for a fixed price we managed to find a Bona fida cab to take us to our hotel, the Pavillon Opera in the 10th district. Not a bad location, we were able to get around easily enough. After a welcome shower and change of clothes we headed to reception for maps and directions. They suggested taking the metro to the La Fayette plaza. This proved complicated but we had some help from a local and finally got there. The shopping centre was utterly overwhelming, every designer name in the world with multi floors leading to a huge domed stained glass ceiling. We left there and made our way back closer to our hotel looking forward to a light meal and a glass of wine. There were no shortages of sidewalk cafés.
A delightful meal with good company and now finally to my room for blissful sleep ready to continue on tomorrow.
