Woke up this morning feeling great and ready to go. Found a great cafe just down the road and had the best omelette ever.(maybe it had something to do with being in Paris, I don’t know). Snap decision to jump onto tour bus and see the sights, great idea as we had to be at the Louvre by 1pm to go to Monet’s Garden, and this bus stopped there, or so I thought. After touring through the Paris City Centre we happened upon the Moulin Rouge.
After a while it started to dawn on us we were on the wrong bus. This was going nowhere near the Lourve. Time was getting away so we jumped into a cab and headed off. We arrived in plenty of time so we had time to explore the area. The louvre itself is massive with no time to do this justice we opted to admire the architecture and surrounds, of course there is the Arc du Triomphe and so many sculptures , this was truly amazing. We stumbled upon this extraordinary art supply shop which is said that Van Gough had visited. A little time for some spot shopping then onto the bus to Giverny to Claude Monet’s home , studio and garden. This is where he painted many of his famous works. This was a moment for reflection as it was said he was the father of Impressionism.
We arrived back in Paris around 6:30, with a plan to have dinner by the Eiffel Tower. On the way we were lucky enough to stop off and see the famous Notre Dame, a true icon of Paris. We found a great restaurant with spectacular views of the tower. Another moment to treasure.
