On the 7th September I leave Brisbane to start on an art and cultural journey through France and culminating in ‘Fun in the Italian Mudd’ at La Meridiana International School of Ceramics in Tuscany. Myself and 10 other like minded people will enjoy learning about sculpture and raku firings in this beautiful environment. Of course there will be time for wine tasting, a Italian cooking school, and exploring this amazing region. My journey starts in Paris with 3 other ladies before the pottery workshop begins. Here we will explore Paris for 2 days before picking up our hire car to drive to the Loire Valley. We spend 2 days in this area staying at a Chateau and immersing ourselves in what the area has to offer. From there we travel on to Lyon where there is an international pottery market where we can begin to be inspired and amazed at what is on offer. From there we continue to travel to Milan in Italy for an overnight stay and we are hopeful to meet an extraordinary sculptor Ugo Riva. On to Pisa where we meet up with the rest of the group to begin our Tuscan clay experience. This is going to be a trip to remember. Keep checking back on my blog for more details on my exploits.
